Artist's Comments

I was playing around with the (not my) camera and this happened to be one of my worst pictures ever where I looked like some sort of alien bird (according to my mother, that is, and she is meant to be the one person who tells me over and over how beautiful i am) Ignoring her comments and upon further study, I realised that it had a lot of potential and therefore cropped and contrasted. I proceeded to desaturate it ever so slightly and voila! i like to call it half-assed work which satisfies me immensely. I can see my contact too, so please try to ignore it (and be relieved that it isnt coloured). I also realise my eyebrows need heavy plucking/waxing/laser treatment, but unfortunately I am not a fan of removing hair from my face... hence my aerodynamic moustache and elvis-sideburns (they keep me warm in the winter)

Maybe I just wasnt cut out to be an artist and im pretending to myself that my work is worth looking at..
or maybe, just maybe, I'm being a bitch to myself so that people say "no Afifa, ur okay, really" and shower me with compliments (hint, hint)
